Guest guest
My DAN feels that many people with casein difficulties may also have soy problems and has told me to eliminate soy. The Urinary Peptide Test done by Great Plains also states that soy may mess up the casein part of the results, which makes me believe there are some similarities between soy and casein also. As far as allergies and intolerances, here's my layman's viewpoint: Our gfcf kids don't necessarily have allergies to casein and gluten. My son had a RAST test done a year ago which showed no allergies to cow's milk or wheat. However, the Urinary Peptide test showed off the scale difficulties with both casein and gluten. An allergy is different from the inability to properly break down the casein and gluten molecules. The gfcf kids typically can't break down g and c properly and turn them into morphine-like molecules which affect their brains. I guess you could call this an intolerance, but not an allergy in the strict sense. Hope this helps and remember I'm not a scientist!
