I think you could go to either of those places...Also call your local welfare office and ask if they have a clothing place for people....like here we have a place that women can get work clothes....etc I always try to give anything to some service like that before I throw it out. I also would rather give it to someone than say goodwill that resells it. I want my things to help someone that can't go spend 5 bucks to buy what they need.... ~~* AJ *~~ Age 37 5'8'' Post op 7/24/01 Open BPD/DS self pay - Dr Baltasar -Alcoy Spain 07/24/01 BMI 64 415.1 08/06/01 BMI 59 390.2 -24.9 lbs! -10.75 inches 08/16/01 BMI 58 387.0 -28.1 lbs! -11.25 inches 08/24/01 BMI 58 386.5 -28.6 lbs! -15.5 inches 08/30/01 BMI 58 378.3 -36.8 lbs! -21.25 inches 09/10/01 BMI 57 373.0 -42.1 lbs! They have chapters all over the country. They give clothes to women for job interviews and for starting out with getting back into the work force. --Steve >There are ALOT of heavy women on welfare....and they have a horrible time >finding clothes. Guest guest
Great ideas AJ and Steve!! I will look into both of those ideas this week. I live in the Detroit metro area, so there should be something in this area. Guest guest
Mickey, I too live in the Detroit metro area and I have bags of clothes that are too big. Our support group has a clothing exchange about every 4 months or so. Our next one is in November and I have a ton to bring to it. I checked into some resale shops but they are very picky and everything has to be cleaned, pressed and on hangers. I just don't have time for that right now. Kathy M. Guest guest
There are people on this list that probably can use your clothing and would be willing to pay the postage. I give everything away. It is a small gift that reminds me to be ever grateful for this miracle that has come into my life. in Seattle > > What did any of you do with the clothes that were too big after > surgery? > > I have thought of a couple options - a consignment shop, but I'm not > sure they would ever sell.... > > Do you think the Red Cross or Goodwill would want clothes my size?? > > Mickey L.
