FHSI is pleased to announce its 2009 National Peer-to-Peer Conference Calls. These valuable, 90-minute conference calls are designed to provide farmworker-serving organizations with a real-world perspective on common challenges facing outreach programs. The calls will focus on improving outreach to Oaxacan indigenous farmworkers and confronting substance abuse among migrant and seasonal farmworkers, respectively. By participating on this call, you can learn how knowing certain cultural practices and traditions can be used to direct outreach and enabling services to these newly emerging populations. Participants will address topics such as traditional cultural festivals and celebrations, special dances and rituals, as well as cultural perspectives on traditional Oaxacan medicine.
