Guest guest
Claire, There aren't any other DS suregons in Northern California; however, there are 3 suregons within 400 miles that accept medicare. Dr. Anthone at USC Dr. Ara Keshishian in Delano, CA Dr. Welker in Eugene, OR Don't worry about the traveling, as you can be treated locally for most things. Dr. Anthone is first rate for high risk patients, and you should consider him. Dr. K and Dr. Welker each have moderate experience with the DS as well as excellent bedside manner. The good news is that you don't need pre-approval for medicare, and your secondary MUST cover it as well since medicare covers it. These suregons have a long wait, so get on the phone and make appoints with all three. Hull > I'm 47,450 lbs, and really need the surgery..... Your California choices are Dr. R in SF, Dr. Keshishian in Delano (near Bakersfield) and Dr. Anthone in LA. alyssa
Guest guest
I'm confused... did you see him and he did not accept you? If so why? Or did you simply noticed that he is not on your insurance, therefore assuming he would not take you. I have an appt. with him and will have to self pay (unless I can get insurance approval). Is this an option with you? Guest guest
Hi Steve: I spoke with Dr. Rabin's office and they told me that they will not deal with Medicare. I don't have the money to pay up front (disabled), but I definitely qualify for the surgery because I have a lot of health problems. Thank you. --- steve.ellis@... wrote: > I'm confused... did you see him and he did not > accept you? If so > why? Guest guest
Claire, I'm sure someone has already written to you about this, but I know that Dr. Anthone at USC (LA) accepts both of your insurances. I live in Sacramento and traveled for my surgery because Dr. Anthone is one of the best. Even if you have complications he is available 24 hrs a day for emergencies. Hope this info helps Kim B. Dr. Anthone USC 4/18/01 -110 lbs.
