Guest guest
This is working out so well for us, I had to share. My husband and I have been just starved to watch a movie at the theater. So we came up with this idea: I pop my own popcorn and put it in tupperware, fill the cooler with ice and GFCF drinks. We're lucky enough to have a laptop computer with a DVD drive, so we take it along with the kids' favorite DVD's (Toy Story 1 & 2). Then we go to the DRIVE-IN! We have a Windstar, so we put the cooler between the front seats and set the laptop on the armrests so that the kids can see their movie. Then we watch whatever we want!!! We have done this two weekends in a row, it costs only $12 to get into the drive-in, so it's really cheap since we bring our own food. If the kids get fussy, roll up the windows until they calm down, and you won't disturb anyone. This has allowed us to enjoy a movie without worrying about what is being fed by the babysitter. The kids love it and it's so cheap! ===== __________________________________________________
Guest guest
, Oh my goodness, what a great idea, i am so angry we have no drive- ins anymore around here:( We have done things like that, pitched a tent in the backyard and camped in it over night (mommy is afraid of bugs LOL). Had a resteraunt theme dinner, complete with menu to order from and monopoly money for daddy to pay with. My dh,myself and oldest son have all taken turns being the " waiter " , it also helped when my oldest was having problems counting money back. We have done " a night at the circus " , and " roller coaster mania " too LOL, you would be surprised at what you can come up with when your desperate for the " real world " LOL.
