Guest guest
Vicki, I have to agree with you. And this is just my personal opinion but here it goes (taking deep breath to blow out any flames that come my way). I eat like a normal person now. Maybe I eat less than SOME people but not that you would notice if you did not know I had had WLS. That is why I had this surgery in the first place. I wanted to be normal in every way not just in how I looked. That's the beauty about WLS - you lose weight and gain normalcy. I'm healthy and I've lost 205 pounds - I have never felt so good! I don't do protein and I eat small amounts of sweets or snacks just like other normal people do. The only rule I am religious about is taking supplements every day. I take Vista Vitamins which are made specifically for WLS patients. I also take extra calcium citrate every day and sub-lingual vitamin B. Other than that, I love being free from bondage....to food, rigid rules, diets, etc. OK - please remember this is just one opinion!! :-) from Washington Lap RNY Sept 2001 Minus 205 pounds 333.5/128.5 http://www.wworw.com > OK, I am going to go out on a limb now. Guest guest
You know what? I've been taking responsibility for all my troubles and blaming myself big time. But it ain't just me that's the problem. Found out last week my stoma's 3x bigger than it should be. Doesn't keep any food in my pouch. Hungry all the time. Not fixable either. THAT's not what I had this surgery for. I wanted normal too. Now I got hungry for the rest of my life, almost worse than b4 WLS. Please don't swipe that tarbrush across every person who CAN'T control the eating. We hate ourselves enuf already as it is.
