Guest guest
I was wired shut for 5 1/2 weeks and could only get thin thin liquids in. I lost 21 pounds. My OS said that was his record for all his patients. I didn't need to lose that much and it made me feel very lathargic. I just didn't do well with the syringe and liquid diet. Guest guest
Absolutely I felt I was goin nuts. I was soooo hungry because all I could get in the back of my teeth in that space was thin thin liquids and I just wanted something creamy or textured. I found a few things that were not full of protein like my dreaded Boosts (which i DIDN'T LIKE FROM THE FIRST DAY) that kept me going like vailla shakes I made that were almost as thin as milk, whole milk with instant breakfast. I didn't drink what I was supposed to, I cried almost everyday (the ugly cry which was uglier because of my swollen face and wired puffy mouth), I was totally out of control....I just kept posting to the group and I got through it. I would rather type a post than drink a shake most times. I really don't know how I would have made it without the messages. Two weeks post op I went back to teaching 5 grade and that made time fly! I didn't have the strength or energy to cry and worry as much after that. Any questions you have feel free to ask!
