Guest guest
HHHHHHeeeelllllpppp!!! Oksana from Dr. Elariny's office called to tell me Dr. Elariny was notified YESTERDAY by Dr. Lassiter (who claimed to be my PCP) that I have uncontrolled hypothyroidism with a TSH of 7.14 and that HE would not allow me to have surgery. I cannot believe this man thinks he can do this. I pointed out to Oksana that I have controlled hypothyroidism and asked if she had the current labs. She did, but she said Dr. Elariny would call me last night (he did not). Oh God, I am going to just die if he refuses to do my surgery (scheduled for 10/9/01). I have filed a complaint withe NC Medical Board, informed Lassiter both verbally and in writing that he is not my MD. What is wrong with this lunatic? Please pray for me. Love, Kathy

Guest guest
, you are so right and now I will be driving 80 miles to the nearest endocrinologist to get clearance for surgery as apparently the jerk implied he would sue if I had surgery. Guest guest
No...the jerk implied to Dr. E that if the surgery was performed on me he would go after Dr. E according to Dr. E's staff. He truly is a sickie. The girl at the NC Medical Board's complaint desk said it's the most bizarre thing she has ever seen in all the years she's been there. Guest guest
Kathy, I think that you are the one who should sue! Every day that you carry around the excess weights adds additional stress to your body and increases the odds that you will develop additional co-morbites. This man is obviously has s serious God complex. He is interfering with your attempts to attain a healthy lifestyle. I really hope that the medical board santions him severely. The key thing to do is to attain a new PCP as soon as possible. Be sure to contact your insurance company to inform them that you have a new PCP. This will keep this jerk from getting any additional money as your PCP and once he realizes that he will not make any additional money maybe he will get a life. I know that a lot of HMO's pay PCP's bonuses based upon the PCP saving them money by not ordering advanced tests and procedures. > HHHHHHeeeelllllpppp!!! Guest guest
Kathy, When I read about people like this doctor, the evil side of me really comes out. I feel like sending him postcards from hotels and motels within driving distance of his office. I would mail them to his home address and say Doctor, it was such a pleasure having you and your wife stay with us recently.... etc. Ok, I'm evil, but damn, he is evil too! Best to you..and keep up the good fight. Hugs, Theresa > > > HHHHHHeeeelllllpppp!!! Guest guest
Actually I don't think a doctor can sue a patient for ignoring their recommendations. Sounds like this man needs a mental status exam. Get an attorney to write a letter then sue his ass off. in Seattle,, no tolerance for medical idiots > , you are so right and now I will be driving 80 miles to the > nearest endocrinologist to get clearance for surgery as apparently the > jerk implied he would sue if I had surgery. Guest guest
I'm not a lawyer nor do I play one on TV. Guest guest
I too would like to react in kind, but a legal record goes a long way in preventing this from happening to someone else. Guest guest
No, actually I was approved in only 12 days, but I have every co-morbity out there and I had an email from a internationally known & well published liver specialist saying I needed the DS to reverse my liver damage. Guest guest
Jerry, Louisiana is home for us...I taught at Charity and LSU School of nursing. We lived in Slidell for 16 years. Where are you? I actually went to Law School at LSU Baton Rouge and now wish I had finished. He believes, I guess, that the surgeon would be commiting battery by operating on a patient who has hypothyroidism. I think his IQ is extremely low. Maybe he graduated bottom of his class or maybe he's just posing as an MD, afterall he's " posing " as my PCP.
