Guest guest
Hi and welcome! Have you tried this document? It doesn't have Dr. Ponseti's CV, but it has some of his history and how he got started, etc. I have downloaded this many times as it is loaded with information and our Doctor uses it for consults all the time. Here's the link: http://www.global-help.org/publications/ponseti-cf.html mom4ponseti wrote: Hello, after lurking for a long time I would like to finally introduce us. My name is and my daughter Pia, who is 16 months old, has bilateral clubfeet. After 4 months of conventional treatment (plastercasts) that would have lead to surgery we changed the treatment method, since then we are true " Ponseti-believers " . In Germany, most doctors still do surgery on clubfeet. In 2002 one doctor introduced the Ponseti-Method to Germany and began treating clubfeet using the method. He did this against all kinds of resistance, but only slowly other docs are catching on. One year later, another hospital began treating children with this method, after the leading othopeadist learned of the method at some congress in New York. He retired since then, but one of his colleages is in charge of the clubfeet in that hospital and has also visited Dr. Ponseti... Its slow going in Germany, but there are more and more doctors. There are also two websites about clubfeet, one favors the surgical method, the other is more neutral an in direction Ponseti-Method. Since there were so many fights in the last time about what method is better, does the brace hamper the kids in their development and so on, I decided to build a new website. This one is supposed to be about the Ponseti-Method alone. Now I have a question: I am looking for a curriculum vitae of Dr. Ponseti. I found something about him on the UofIowa-website and the Essay that was postet here. But I am also interested in the time before he came to the US and the time in between then and now - I know that he was very active also in the treatment of scoliosis. I would be very thankful for some information. If you all have questions concerning the treatment in Germany, I am happy to answer them! Thank you! Guest guest
Hi , I live in The Netherlands and, so far, the only doctors I've found that appear to use the Ponseti Method are in Hengelo (in The Netherlands on the German border). The doctors are named Schuppers and Buchholz. Unfortunately I haven't been able to get hold of them yet but I wanted to make sure that these weren't the doctors you had a bad experience with. My baby is due in April and I'm desperately trying to find Ponseti doctors somewhere relatively close by. Joyce American in Holland
Guest guest
Hi Joyce, If there are no Ponseti doctors in Holland, what about going to England? Dr Naomi is one of the best. Guest guest
I wish you all the best in finding a good Ponseti doctor close by, we had to fly from South Africa to Iowa 3 years ago because there were none in our country yet! There is a dr in Brussels which is relatively close so that may be an option if the Dutch doctors don't work out. That's good to know about Dr. . I've been in touch with her and she's looking for the names of some Dutch doctors that attended a seminar she was at. I'll keep her in mind if needed though. Thanks! Guest guest
Hello Joyce, I am sorry, but I don't know any Doctors in the Netherlands who practice the Ponseti-Method. But I know that there are Doctors in Muenster, Germany, who do, and one Doctor in Wuppertal. (I have a List of Ponseti-Doctors in Germany). I would be careful in the Netherlands, what a friend heard from a clubfoot-supportgroup there was, that they regard the Ponseti-Method as old-fashioned and useless. Luckily, we know better! I really don't know about the Doctors you mentioned, but if you would like to, I would send you the adresses of the german Doctors. Greetings from Germany > > Hi , > I live in The Netherlands and, so far, the only doctors I've found > that appear to use the Ponseti Method are in Hengelo (in The > Netherlands on the German border).
