Today, I filled out the form for my insurance at my new job. I was never so

excited to fill out an insurance form before in my life! From what I have

seen posted on other wls lists and at obesity.com, the ins. I will have

covers this (even DS) if medically necessary. I also found out today that

with the PPO coverage, they don't even require a referral! I can go directly

to any Dr. If I choose in network, I get 100% coverage - out of network, I

get 70%. I am still debating about this and will be seeing both OH Drs, Dr.

Hess and Dr. Maguire. I go for consult with Dr. Hess Monday Nov. 12th and I

am scheduled for an Informational Session with Dr. Maguire Friday, Nov.

16th. (Now I gotta figure out a way to get off work Monday and Friday of

that week for the whole day - I am sure if I say it is for a Dr. appt they

will wonder why I need the whole day, but it is because I live 3 hrs from Dr.

Hess and 4 1/2 hrs from Dr. Maguire. I think I need to check both of them

out, since I know with Dr. Maguire he is in network and Dr. Hess isn't,

although his hospital is. I know they are both qualified good Drs.

I am just so happy to finally get insurance so I can really start this

journey! I won't be insured till Oct. 1st, but I'm on my way now. And I was

pleasantly surprised that no referral from a PCP is required, even if I go

out of network. The ins. lady just said I would have to pay more out of

network and possibly they could bill me extra if they don't accept their

" reasonable and customary " amt. But I have heard that Dr. Hess pretty much

goes along with what they pay, but he requires $2500 up front because they

are so slow in paying, but then gives back the money if he gets paid the

minimum he wants.

Now I have to quit smoking (pray for me that I can do that) and keep the

faith and courage. I think I'll do what one poster did, not think about it

till I am on the table and then let them knock me out and I won't be able to

think about it till its done!

I know I still have some hurdles to go through and nothing is certain till

its done, but this is one step closer and made me happy today! Had to share

that with you all.

Carole
