Guest guest
Debra: I had my lowerjaw advanced about 15mm ten days ago and have been able to speak fairly well since the day after the operation. The numbness in my lower jaw is a little bit of a bother when speaking but, with luck, I'll be used to that or it will be resolvng itself within a couple of months. I guess one thing with a new job is to see how your eating abilities come along before May and making sure that you can bring your own stuff if need be. > > > > Hello everybody. Guest guest
See, that's the interesting thing...The Chief Resident had me sign a release form that pretty much gave them permission to do an Extreme Makeover if they needed to (lower, upper, and chin) Yet when the head surgeon came in he said lower only. Banded, not wired, and hey we can probably even do without the bands. So, I've adapted the " this is going to be one heck of a surpise " attitude about my surgery. I won't worry about it till I wake up and know what they did. That's all I can do. Although, I am more inclined to trust the head surgeon as he's written books on this stuff and runs that part of the medical school and that department in the hospital. I think the new overzealous resident was just giving me every minute posibility to cover his own butt. Felt a little like good cop/bad cop. Kept me amused. Look forward to talking with you later! > > > > > > > > > > Hello everybody. Just checking in from the UK.
