I found my bed was better with some pillows (6) propped. I have a recliner that I loved when I left but it was horrible when I got home. I think everyone is different in this respect. Its hard to know until you're home. My bed worked great and I found the hardest part was I couldnt sleep on my side for about 4 weeks...and now I can and life is WONDERFUL!!!!! I didn't want a recliner afterwards, so I just rented a hospital bed for one month. But I couldn't get it delivered until my second day home, so I ended up in bed the first night eith every pillow in the house propping me up. I slept much more comfortably in that bed, and after 3 weeks I really didn't need it, we returned it early. Ellen DS 2/14/01 310 Dr. Anthone 8/27/01 230 - 80 lbs. Guest guest
Gail, I didn't get a recliner pre-op as a result I spent 3 sleepless nights in agony until I finally drove to a rental store in pain to rent a recliner. 8 weeks later and I still don't have the heart to send it back. It is like a member of the family. I never would have made it without the recliner. I refuse to pay to rent it for 2 years at double the original price so I am currently looking for the same recliner at a reasonable price. Take it from someone who had been there buy or rent a chair before going to hospital it will be your greatest source of comfort post-op. Guest guest
Has anyone got one of those bed lounger pillows and has it worked for post-op? I found a picture at: http://shop.store.yahoo.com/comfortchannel/bedlounger.html I'd buy a recliner, but I don't think there's room in the house for one, really. I guess I could sleep in the garage? (just kidding) Thanks,

I guess I could sleep in the garage? (just kidding) Maybe, try renting one for two weeks. It may overpower the room in which you place it, but iw wouldn't be forever. --Steve > >Thanks, > --
