Guest guest
, Make sure you eat food with the Naproxen. Aside from tearing up my stomach, it's a miracle drug for me. wrote: I went and saw my oral surgeon today and he told me why i was having the pain in the left side. He told me that I was over doing the chewing and that the bones are still in the healing process and that it takes a full year for it to heal fully. He told me that the joint was inflammed so he prescribed me Naproxen to take twice a day.
Guest guest
Thanks for the explanation, it does make sense. I also had a panorac taken, and I did not have any inflamation, but I was not in pain the day I went. " up to a year " is the magic saying now, only 8 more months to go!!!! Hope you are feeling better!! B. > > I went and saw my oral surgeon today and he told me why i was having > the pain in the left side. Guest guest
I saw my ortho about a month or so ago, and he told me that, even at 2 years post-op, the joints are still remodeling. That's not meant to depress you, but it can be a long healing process. Isn't Naproxen (Alleve) that med that's been banned or given a warning? I had some that I bought in the US but I don't take it anymore. Advil gelcaps seem to do the trick for me when I have headaches that nothing else works on. > > I went and saw my oral surgeon today and he told me why i was having > the pain in the left side. Guest guest
, I think you're thinking of the recent problems with Vioxx. There have also been some studies that suggest problems (some possible links with heart trouble) with some other 2 inhibitors -- Celebrex, Bextra, etc. -- but the docs I've asked about the recall seem not seriously worried about it, at least for me. Not denying the possibilities, just suggesting that the risks may have been overblown. I am not aware of any problem with the Naproxen that other NSAIDS (aspirin, Motrin, etc.) don't have, too. Guest guest
There was in fact a study released on Naproxen recently (I take it for neck pain, so I remember being worried when I saw the headline!) I'm not 100% sure, but I *think* the problem was a slight increase in stroke risk in elderly patients. I might be wrong on this though -- so it's probably worth checking out if you're taking naproxen and are concerned. Personally, I find it extrememly helpful for inflammation, though as someone else said, it can be a bit hard on the stomach. - > > > > I saw my ortho about a month or so ago, and he told me that, even > at > > 2 years post-op, the joints are still remodeling.
