Guest guest
Connie, it is the high blood sugars doing a number on your eyes. Add the extra steroids, and the cornea can actually swell-- and that distorts your vision. What was the pressure in your eyes? Does your vision get better if you use some artificial tears-- because if your eyes are drier than the usual dry eye problem we all have, then again-- you won't see as clearly. The surface of the cornea is like a glass mirror. Add the tears and see how much clearer the reflection is when the tears flow across the mirror-- eyes are like that-- and the cornea is 80% water- so any dryness really screws up the surface. And yeah, it can come on suddenly, but if it does-- it means that you have an EMERGENT problem-- and don't wait to call and get in. Tell them you have a sudden vision change for the worse-- and they should have you get in that day!!!! Take care, Tracie NS Co-owner/moderator Subject: Eye examTo: neurosarcoidosis Date: Sunday, March 29, 2009, 10:09 PM I went to the opthalmologist, he says I have mild cataracts; and that the new glasses I just bought in the last couple of months are all wrong. He thought maybe it had something to do with the higher dose steroids I was on for a while, and high blood sugars. But if I recall correctly I was on my regular dose of steroids. I don't know. I'm not hunting trouble, but I find it awful strange, that 4 days ago I could see great, now I see awful. I'm feeling kind of rough, so I'm fixing to call it a day. Thanks for everything guys..Connie
Guest guest
Hi Connie, I wanted to let you know that I lost my vision in both eyes all of a sudden. I was driving my twins to school and I could not tell what color the stop light were. I went to the Dr.and he told me I had cataracts, which was caused by the pred. meds. I had surgery and everything is fine now. Good luck ! Guest guest
Thank you Rose, I see the neurologist that always took care of me Tuesday. I know something is wrong. My vision still stinks, and I went to pick up some pans with my left hand, and there is weakness there, just like my leg. I did not know that until today. I hate like crazy to admit it, but I think I have definitely blown a fuse somewhere.
