Hi Kitty,

I too was more scared of my plastic surgery than of the RNY (I just

had 3 procedures done at the same time a month ago). I think the

difference is that WLS was my last chance at life - I really felt

like I was headed for an early grave without it. So, having WLS was

a life or death decision for me. Plastic surgery on the other hand

is elective. I could have lived with things the way they were but

wanted to feel good about wearing shorts and a swimsuit. So, I went

for it even though I looked just fine in my normal clothes. Facing

8 1/2 hours of plastic surgery when it was not needed to improve my

health, made me scared and guilty - I felt if something went wrong

and I died I would have left my son without his Mom and my husband

without his wife for " no good reason " . Make sense?

As for the eating habits, I found that before my plastic surgery I

too was eating inappropriate things which I think was due to the

stress and fear. Old habits (pre-WLS) die hard. In any case, don't

beat yourself up about it - we all eat things we know we should not

and luckily most of us have dumping syndrome to remind us to get

back with the program!
