Guest guest
Hi Kitty, I too was more scared of my plastic surgery than of the RNY (I just had 3 procedures done at the same time a month ago). I think the difference is that WLS was my last chance at life - I really felt like I was headed for an early grave without it. So, having WLS was a life or death decision for me. Plastic surgery on the other hand is elective. I could have lived with things the way they were but wanted to feel good about wearing shorts and a swimsuit. So, I went for it even though I looked just fine in my normal clothes. Facing 8 1/2 hours of plastic surgery when it was not needed to improve my health, made me scared and guilty - I felt if something went wrong and I died I would have left my son without his Mom and my husband without his wife for " no good reason " . Make sense? As for the eating habits, I found that before my plastic surgery I too was eating inappropriate things which I think was due to the stress and fear. Old habits (pre-WLS) die hard. In any case, don't beat yourself up about it - we all eat things we know we should not and luckily most of us have dumping syndrome to remind us to get back with the program! in Washington Lap RNY Sept 2001 Minus 205 pounds 333.5/128 http://www.wworw.com >Would you believe that > I'm more scared of the reconstructive surgery than I ever was of the RNY?
