Guest guest
I seem to have problems with vitamin D. If I am not extremely careful about how much sun I get, I become very sick and weak. So I avoid D, I do understand that this is not the case with everybody that has sarc. Guest guest
Connie, Even with problems with Vit D levels, and calcium issues with sarc; it is a very small percentage that have a problem with D1.25xxx, and those have to be monitored carefully. Too much calcium in the kidneys causes failure-- so it can be an issue. I know some of you have problems with being out in the sunlight. What I've found is that if I were to go out and spend the day in the sun-- yep, I'm going to be sick. But if I go out and spend 10 minutes putzing around the yard, I'm find and my attitude is so much better. Keep me inside day after day, and I'm ready to blow my head off-- literally. One thing we know, if we operate at any extreme-- it's going to eventually play havoc with our bodies. So, break the 10 minutes into 5 minute intervals-- or whatever, but do yourself a favor and even if you are in the shade of a patio umbrella-- get out and get some fresh air. I don't know, maybe you'll have to do it over a couple of minutes multiple times each day-- and see what happens. I really really believe that so mcuh of what we do, what we eat, our jobs that demanded we be inside in front of computers day in and day out, the stress that technology has brought on by people being able to do multiple tasks-- and do them quickly--- has really put us at a physical and emotional health crisis. I don't remember my grandparents being so very depressed, and they were realitively healthy way into their 60's and 70's. They worked all day, then came home and tended the garden, the meat wasn't filled with hormones and fats to make that cow weigh in heavier (ground-up tires are used as a filler) the fish wasn't full of mercury, and until DDT and lead shot came out-- we weren't effected by pesticides and metal poisoning. Right now, the stores are telling us to by Talipa fish-- there's still plenty of them to catch-- but Talipa is high in Omega 6-- a pro-inflammatory. In fact, it's 6 times higher in Omega 6 than any other fish. So eat it, and watch how much you hurt that night. Make a meal of ocean caught salmon, which is rich in Omega 3's-- which are anti-inflammatory; and no pain! Our chickens are fed antibiotics, hormones, and such so they put on the weight faster-- and then can be on our tables faster- with huge breasts; but at what price. The layers are fed stuff to make them produce more eggs-- it shortens their lifespan-- but hey, they're easily replaced. Gluten in white breads, cakes, cookies, etc-- the white flour used for noodles, all make us very ill. But it's cheap and hey-- they can "enrich" the stuff, adding back in what they took out so that it was estestically pleasing. Take all the corn syrups, the corn starches (sugars) the modified corn starches, the preservatives-- out and see if we don't hurt less. The other choice--- we won't need to be embalmed- we grew up on Twinkies! I think we all need to go back to basics-- and see what happens. Sadly, I also know that when our income has become limited because of illness, that this is very hard to do, as the least expensive food is good ol Mac and Cheese. Now, I'm almost done with my annual bag of jelly beans and just as soon as they're gone, it's done-- and yep, I'm hurting. (Walk the walk tracie, walk the walk...) We do have to learn to be gentle with ourself, that is for sure. Thanks gang, I love the feedback!
