Guest guest
We applied for SSI and didn't qualify either because of too much of what they call " equity " (which is extra income, that you really don't have, unless you were ot sell it; ie. piece of land that you have a loan/mortgage on, a house etc.) We applied for DDD and we qualified. DDD is okay for mostly every body, because it is not really based on your income, but on your child's and his disability. So mostly anyone should qualify. There is a " cap waiver program " for medicaid, and then there is the " family support $$$ " that will provide a medical coupon (this one you can use toward paying therapy etc.) The second one has a looooong waiting time, the fiorst one is done fairly quickly. Call your DDD (local department) and ask to apply and how. They will then assign you a case worker, and that will help you go through: I bug mine once a week to see if it is pushing any faster ) We are struggling too, so I know what you mean. Hang in there. Hope this helps. BTW one is federal funded one is gov.ment funded, they work completely different. Cristina-WA
