Guest guest
Mel you look great. Love the green shirt to match your green bruising. Did you have lower jaw and a genioplasty only??
Guest guest
Rymi, Yeah just lower jaw advancement and genio. Well and 3 wisdom teeth taken out too. I thought the green tank top was a nice touch too, lol. And thanks for saying I look great, nice to hear after being swollen up like a beach ball and only being able to drink stupid meal replacement stuff. Oo, although I have discovered I can eat jell- o by sucking it through my front teeth (lovely image eh?). > > > Mel you look great. Love the green shirt to match > your green bruising. Guest guest
Not a freak at all. I think susan fiddly had an elastic break almost immediately after surgery -- or maybe it was a bit later. Anyhow, her surgeon was more than an hour away, and her ortho was closer, so she just went and asked him to replace it. My surgeon told me I broke all mine in the first night post op, while I was still in the recovery area. If so, I don't remember it. (I do, however, wonder what exactly I said and did while I was still under the spell of the morphine. I remember having odd hallucinations, which I knew were hallucinations, all that night. Later, I went back to that same recovery area when I was a caregiver, not the patient, and I was astonished at how different it looked. I remembered screen doors that slammed during the night. Thank God I had some wonderful Bach cds and a player. I am firmly convinced that their beauty and orderly progression helped give me what little sanity I had that night...) I went home completely unbanded, not wired, with a splint. Didn't have more bands for several weeks... Cammie > > Hey, tomorrow it'll be two weeks since I had my surgery and I'm > feeling great. Guest guest
Good to hear I went almost my entire two weeks without breaking an elastic then, hehe. My oral surgeon is about a 6 hour drive away and since I'm at my parents right now my ortho is an hour and a half away right now, but like I said I'm heading there tomorrow anyway so I wasn't really concerned, just wondered if it was common. I was on dilaudid for the first after surgery and now I'm on morphine. Drugs don't really effect me much at all. I had no hallucinations, no feeling of " high " , it takes care of the pain fine, but then again I'm hardly in any pain at all. They would probably put me on the Tylenol 3s (with codeine) but I'm allergic to codeine. I'm expecting to go to just advil soon. > > > > Hey, tomorrow it'll be two weeks since I had my surgery and I'm > > feeling great.
