One week is really early in the healing game. I'm eight weeks

post op on a really big 15mm genioplasty. I'm improving literally

every day, but at one week things are going to be pretty swollen

and out of shape yet. Give it time and it should be fine. Just

hope you got the amount of advancement you hoped for.... my

recent genio was the second one in my life as the first one that

was coupled with jaw advancement still left me with a pretty sad

looking profile.

I agree with , I am one month post op and do not feel much of a

bone, just some weird sensation on the skin. It could take months to

feel your chin back. Wait for the swelling to go down to see the

result of the advancemtn, dont know how much you needed but it is too

early to judge.

For my lip, I could feel it completely from day 1, so I am not sure

why you feel stiff. It has some residual burning sesnation though.

My biggest concern now is the scarring, it is not as smooth as I had

hoped and I am applying vitamin E oil and massaging to help it

smooth. Unfortunatley I will have to have another incision in 6

months to remove the hadrware since I dont want them in there, so I

will probably increase the scarring. But I just could live with the

thought of being a cyborg.

Good luck, be patient and sleep with elevated head to reduce your

swelling.
