Guest guest
I get mine from GIProhealth. I've also heard that Carlson's is SCD legal. Kathy > > Hi, > > My sons doctor just informed us that his vitamin D levels are low and she wants us to start supplementing it. Where can I get SCD legal vitamin D3 and what brands are good? I'm sure this has been asked already but the search isn't working very well. Thanks for any help! > > Kara >

Guest guest
I use Carlson Labs DDrops 2,000IU/drop in saponified coconut oil. I buy it at Whole Foods. Vitamin D3 is best absorbed with some calcium or calcium/magnesium from what I understand. Guest guest
Where can I get SCD legal vitamin D3 and what brands are good?Cod liver oil and fermented cod liver oil are very good sources of vitamin D, and I think (but am not sure) that this might be better absorbed since it's in the form of a real food. It also has vitamin A. You could also just take a vitamin D supplement (not sure what brand), but I wanted to suggest the CLO as an option just in case you hadn't thought of it. Guest guest
Thanks for the replies!! I guess this now brings me to my next question. We have not been supplementing him with calcium even though he is very strictly dairy free, we have been relying on the bone broths (chicken, beef, turkey, and lamb) we make to provide him with calcium. We give him about 3oz of broth before each meal, would this be enough calcium to help him absorb the vitamin d? He already gets a mag citrate supplement to help with his constipation. Guest guest
Who knows? I’m a horticulturist, not a chemist Lol! According to http://www.townsendletter.com/FebMarch2005/broth0205.htm there is calcium in bone broth, but there are no %’s given per oz. Guest guest
Great information! I've just started to research a legal vit d3. I emailed pure encapsulations as that was the vit d3 capsule i've been taking and they said it can contain maltodextrin. I've dropped all of my supplements now - maybe this has been causing me problems. Thanks Jodi and Kim for suggesting the supplements....i would probably have never thought of those. Jodi and Kim - i've been wondering if i should try the FCLO also - did you have any problems with it at first and do you use the blend with butter? I know the butter is fermented and has no lactose or casein (i think) so i was wondering if i should try it (don't do dairy right now) or just the FCLO by itself? I'll try it after about 2 weeks of no supplements. Thanks! > >My sons doctor just informed us that his vitamin > >D levels are low and she wants us to start > >supplementing it.
