Guest guest
It is disappointing when you don’t see a lot of growth. We had a 12 week period, from 7.5 months old to 10.5 months old, where we only saw 2 mm of change. Then we had another growth spurt and got some more change so I was happy that we had continued with the band. Yes, it was hard as it was summertime but the band still fit and I wasn’t going to give up until we outgrew it. Do you have any concerns that the band isn’t fitting properly or that the ortho isn’t doing a good job? We had an appointment yesterday and it was very disappointing, his head had not grown at all. The asymmetry had improved 1 more mm but that was it. His flat spot in on the upper back of his head, and I swear it has not changed one bit. I feel like I am doing this for nothing. I am making my baby wear this plastic helmet on his head in 90 degree weather for nothing. I can't even cuddle with him because he constantly hits me in the face with the helmet. The ortho said sometimes this happens and they don't go through a growing spurt for a period and there will be no change until the head grows. Has anyone had a similar experience? He also mentioned that could be in the helmet until age 2 if necessary..I can't imagine spending the next year and 3 months with him in this helmet.
