Thanks for remembering!! :)

However, it didnt go well.

apparently, they feel his forehead is too small, and the temple area too, so they said they did not feel they could get a good fitting band with those facial features.

I am really disappointed! I was really hoping we could at least try! But they said the band would slide all over.

So, now I'm back to repositioning.

I was considering looking into CST - what do I have to lose, right?....

to anyone reading this - how do I go about finding one in my area? Are they generally massage therapists or physical therapists? just wondering.

thanks again for remembering us!

ann

Hi!My son is almost 17 months, and we also were told not to worry about the flat spot on the back of his head.It wasn't until finding this group that I realized a helmet/band was still an option.I just found and joined this group last weekend & made an appointment by Tuesday of last week, and we are heading to cranial technologies this Wednesday for a consultation. I am hoping they will agree to help us! Because we live such a distance, if they agree to treat him, we are having the scan done that day to fit the helmet.I wish you a lot of luck!!! You are not alone! We are in a very similar boat! I pray we both have results with our kiddos!Good luck!ann> >> > My son has Plagiocephaly and we were told over the last 18 months by various NHS professionals that it was nothing to worry about and it would improve. it hasn't so we have signed up to have the helmet treatment but we are EXTREMELY worried. its not the money, its the fact that he is now a little boy really

with likes and dislikes and feelings and we are wondering if it is going to be 10 or so months of toture for him with no result. Can anyone advise? we are new to this and have no really idea what we are letting ourselves or him into whether we do go ahead with is or whethre we dont. Has anyone out there had a helmet fitted so late in the day with good or bad results? please help as i can't sleep at night wondering what to do about this for the best. I am so angry that we didnt have good advice from the start. xx> >>

I am so sorry, ann. I was really hoping that things would work out for your son especially considering his age. That must be so frustrating.

We did CST for a while with Maysa while she was in her 1st DOC band. I can't tell you what made her improve more, the band or CST but we did both because I was so desperate at the time about her headshape, I wanted to try everything I possibly could. We saw a Doctor of Osteopathy. I found her through the following website: http://www.cranialacademy.com/ and searched for practitioners in my area. It was expensive and not covered by my insurance but I didn't care. I decided to stop after a few months. Towards the end, Maysa was crying the entire time the doctor would work on her and it became very hard to hold her still...

Have you joined the OlderPlagio group yet? Some parents there use other methods such as activator which I know nothing about. They might be able to help you a little more.

Leila,

Maysa, 15 months old, 4 weeks left in DOC band 2
