Guest guest
, I don't know for sure, but I think that the coating on LJS fries has wheat in it. Even if it doesn't, I'm sure that the fries are cooked in the same oil as the hush puppies, which definitely contain wheat. I have a 96 year-old great-grandmother in a nursing home, and some family member had to open their mouth and tell her about 's allergies. Now she's worrying constantly, afraid that there's nothing he can eat. It's really hard for older people to understand. Especially when they have their mind set that wheat is the only grain that can be cooked with. So, I understand your frustrations with your grandmother. We don't go to many family dinners anymore, because it's not worth it to have everyone making a fuss over it and drawing so much attention to his allergies, not to mention the people that will try to sneak him food out of ignorance. Even my mother had been really skeptical about his allergies and had thought that it was just a doctor's ploy to get more money out of us for testing. My husband and I went away for a weekend a couple weeks ago, and left the kids with my parents. Thank God he had two reactions while we were gone! I know it sounds strange to say that, but now she sees that his allergies are real and she's a lot more supportive now. He started reacting to macadamia nut butter and she has one of those spandex swimsuits with floatation devices inside it for him to swim in, and he broke out in a rash everywhere that it touched him. So we're assuming a latex allergy?? Anyway, hang tough and realize that some people will just never understand. Sampson [ What is in those Long Silvers french > fries?
