The procedure can be done under a local and in the doctors office.

Mine was done under general anethesia and at the hospital. He

decided to to this because he said he didn't think he could keep

me " asleep enough " to retract as far up as he would have to to be

able to reach the top of the bracket/screw. I woke up and went home

a half hour later. Had it done on a Thursday, back to work on a

Monday. I asked to keep the hardware, I figured my insurance and I

had paid for it. It is amazing to look at it knowing where it was

and what it did.
