opening mouth after surgery

I am 2 weeks post op on lower and was wondering if opening your mouth

wide after surgery takes a long time. I had my splint out today and

still can only open my mouth just a little. It doesnt really hurt

when I try it just doesnt seem to want to open. Maybe I am just a

little scared of trying. Is this normal? and should I keep trying to

open wider? thanks

my surgeon told me that it varies from person to person... i

wouldn't deliberately try to open your mouth as wide as you can till

you see your surgeon...
