Guest guest
Well, your teeth actually aren't " there " any more. They're somewhere else, in their new positions, and it will probably take you a while to get used to where they are now. I remember asking my surgeon at one point, " Will this ever feel like my mouth again? " " Nope, " he said, with one of his big evil grins! " It's MY mouth now. " To a certain extent, he was right. It doesnt fit the way it did before. But I think it does work better. Cammie > > Hi everyone-- > Everybody seems to have great advice in here. Guest guest
Hi Lila, I went back on soft foods last week and it was completely unsettling - - it felt like my teeth and tongue and lips had all never met before, but were now being expected to perform a very elaborate dance. It kind of dashed my spirits for a couple of days, because I had no expectation that eating would feel so completely foreign. (I'm not entirely sure that my teeth are even lining up exactly right, either - - I think my ortho is *still* going to have to pull my bite further into place.) So no, you're not alone in feeling weird. > > Hi everyone-- > Everybody seems to have great advice in here. I'm at 5 weeks post- op > and can start to eat soft foods.
