Guest guest
Can't you just ask your Pediatrician? My daughter's Pediatrician does not really believe in helmets but was willling to write the perscription. Suzanne > > Hey guys, I'm really hoping someone can give me some advice on how to proceed here. > > We took my daughter Lennon to the cranio facial doctor at Kaiser (she has Kaiser through IEHP) about three months ago for asymmetry of the ears and a flat spot on one side of the back of her head. They told us to use a sleep positioner and that if it didn't improve in two months to come back for a helmet. In two months her head was better (though still not " normal " ) but her ears were not. However, when we went back for that second appointment we were told there was nothing that they could do for her! > > I was so upset that I made an appointment with Cranial Tech for a consult and they pointed out things we hadn't even noticed yet (forehead sloping, one eye socket has shifted, etc) and they recommended treatment. So we went back to Kaiser with this info and they refused to write a prescription no matter what! > > I am SO angry and I don't know what to do. > > I am more than willing to pay for the helmet out of pocket, which I would have to do anyway as Kaiser does not work with Cranial Tech, but they need a prescription to begin treatment even if I pay out of pocket. > > Anyone else been in this situation?
