But I would also add, that if your son [or anyone else's child on this or other special diet], attends a public school with an IEP, that you include a line in the IEP which indicates the special dietary requirements. Generally, parents of younger children use the phrase " parent-provided food only " , along with anything else they believe is necessary. If it is not included in the IEP, the school is not obligated to follow it. Most teachers and other school personnel will attempt to accommodate you, but they will not be required to do so unless it is stated in the IEP.
