Guest guest
Hi- I have not tried it but some people have said it worked for them. My concern (if I was in your shoes) would be that she's already 8.5 months old. While that's not " old, " it might mean missing out on some really good growth you could get if you did go with the helmet now. And if therapy doesn't work, then she'd be even older and you might not get as much correction if you then decide to band later. If she was younger, like 4 months old or something, you would have a little more of a buffer of time on your side. My son wore a helmet all of last summer in North Carolina (98+), and he definitely did sweat, but he was also an active " older " toddler, so I know he would have been sweating anyway. I do see where you're coming from, but I don't know if I would base the decision to band or not solely on the heat. Just my thoughts though. I hope you get some good feedback on the CST. Good luck on your decision! Jake-2.5 (DOCBand Grad 9/08) Jordan-5 > > Hello Everyone! > > I just wanted to know if anyone has tried infant cranial-sacral massage therapy instead of the Doc Band? My little is was recommend for a doc band and she is 81/2mths. I am having second thoughts about since summer time is coming and I know she going to be sweating alot. She already does now so I can just image when it's 100 in Houston. I done some research and this massage therapy came up. > > Thanks, > > >
Guest guest
, My daughter (6.5 months) has mild plagio and is not severe enough for the helmet so currently we are doing CST. We have only gone for 2 sessions and I have not seen any changes yet, although our osteopath physician says we need to go consistently once a week for 5 weeks before we can expect to see any changes. I am still keeping my fingers crossed that the CST will be helpful for my daughter. I just wanted to pass this along so that you have an idea of how much time you will be devoting to the CST before you begin to see any results. Guest guest
Thanks for thoughts! I think we should really go with the helmet. > > > > Hello Everyone! > > > > I just wanted to know if anyone has tried infant cranial-sacral massage therapy instead of the Doc Band? Guest guest
>Helmet, it will be worth it!! My daughter Chloe was 8 months when she got into her helmet, and it was in the summer. Ya, she did sweat a little extra, but her body did get used to having the helmet on and the sweating decreased. It was in the 90's almost everyday, but we kept Chloe in as much as possible and it was a lot of time in just a diaper. In the long run, helmeting will be worth it and your daughter will thank you in the future.
