That would be great! It is hard to make the direct contact to the right

people without a direct contact- they get a lot of small companies

trying to sell their stuff and they are all so " busy " and stuff...

Thanks!

Hiya!

Yeah, Dr. Super is good and he does answer all my questions... there

were just a few times where the answer- as it related directly to me-

changed. (we can use screws... well, we could not use screws on you...

stuff like that.) he is certainly very knowledgeable and has been

doing this a long time so I'd trust his answers. I think, though he did

not tell me for a fact, that he prefers the old fashioned wiring

instead of screws. He told me that as the jaw heals you can sort of

guide it into place like a plane coming in for a landing. .. his

words... which kinda makes sense.

As to your question of the day.... my answer is Yes- I would go through

it again. Honestly, if for no other reason than that I am the type of

person that always would have wondered if I should have. It also gave

me something interesting to talk about. Usually I am very boring unless

the conversation is about bags. I struggled with the idea of getting

braces and was finally convinced when I read an inspirational article

in People magazine about a woman who, after a lifetime of struggling

starting her own businesses, finally hit the big time with some buffalo

hair cashmere. I turned the page and there was a picture of a lovely

looking woman of about 55 wearing braces and I thought to myself... I

don't want to be thinking about this for the next 25 years before

actually fixing it.

yes, the process sucks (though lets be honest- the adrenaline rush is

sorta fun) and the wiring sucks and the people around you who suck,

suck even more... and yes, on the rare occasion something could go

wrong, but for the most part, It's 6 weeks out of your entire life,

that will possibly change the rest of it.

As a whole, I think my battle with the insurance company was worse than

the whole surgery experience. Now, I am probably the exception there-

my insurance battle was very fierce and my surgery, not as complicated

as many of you... But i cried a lot more and lost a lot more sleep

about the insurance thing...

Also, my answer might be different if I had had a lot of physical

changes to my face... I can imagine that is very emotionally

difficult---- just the 2 days where my center line was off gave me

knots in my stomach. Also, if I had to stay home for that amount of

time it would have been more difficult- or if I had numbness- that

would have sucked. But I didn't. I think all of those factors would

have been more in play if I had had upper jaw as well... that is

probably a lot more difficult. I think for all my complaining, my

surgery and healing went very smooth.

Good Luck with yours... I already feel like it's practically history...

Best, Tova
