Hi Bob!!

I was wondering what had happened to you... I figured you were up to

high jinx or something!! Too bad about the computer but I suppose

$150 is better than buying a new one. I'm glad you're back! The post

op did go fine. I don't like being banded at all... it has limited my

range of motion and opening my mouth which impedes my already

pathetic eating. And my lips rub against the bands which makes them

feel like they are burning. I am facing getting more at my next appt

too, I think. No fun!!! Sounds like our appts. were on the same day-

thursday. That is cool you got to see your rads! I saw mine (cause I

asked) when they were taken the day after surgery. Must have been

crazy to see all the hardware. I have resorbable everything... so

nothing showed up in my xrays. I could only see the changes in the

bone. That is weird too- to not see the plates/screws!! What was

the wire for? Very cool that you were unbanded. I'm jealous!! He left

the archbars- what are they? I don't think I have those... I am

splinted though. Are you splinted? Or were you splinted? I guess we

are both back to being more human. My swelling is more on my left

side too. I think because they had to move the lower jaw out more on

that side and the upper was moved over towards the left side. But

that is purely conjecture on my part. I am all numb still and my

lower lip is also puffy.

I am really sorry about your chin. I remember you mentioned it before

that it got bad at night. That is too bad... good I guess that you

are having sensation and feeling, but nobody wants to be experiencing

outright pain!! Have you been able to take anything to alleviate it?

Don't let it go for too long if it really is hurting you. At least

check with your surgeon that it is normal. Sometimes my chin itches,

but of course when I try to scratch the itch,I feel nothing. It is

bizarre. Other times if feels really uncomfortable and unpleasant,

but not painful. When is your next appt with the OS? How is your

eating going? And have you stayed away from the hockey games!?!?

Sounds like, besides your chin,that you are doing pretty well. Keep
