Guest guest
I agree. Much less expensive than some other publications that have been advertised here -- publications that shall go nameless here, but sell for something north of $50 U.S. is a registered nurse who has worked a lot with patients having jaw surgery, and she has done much to make these transitions easier for us, including the book. Just know that not everything she mentions happens to every person who has jaw surgery. Better to know of a possibility and be prepared, though -- unless you turn it into a self-fulfilling prophecy. It sells on the zip and squeeze web site. It is called > The " Healing Jaw " and a Liquid Diet by Beaudette,RN.
Guest guest
Well the book has really helped me. I actually knew what I was looking for at the grocery store tonight and it makes blending things idiot proof! Tonight supper was blended chicken pot pie with broth and butter ....alright, but at least a nice change and a nice dose of calories. And for dessert a peanut butter sandwhich (3tble of peanut butter, 1 tble of jelly, one piece of crustless bread, and 2 cups of milk) This was comical because at first I was like this does taste like one, then after a few sucks from my zippin squeeze which I love way better than a syringe, I was not wanting anymore. my little 14 month old angel was in my lap admiring my new feeding tool and decided if mommie had it it must be better than what she had and so she proceeded to suck down the remainder of my PB & J from the zip and squeeze!! These are the things that are getting me through this, and you all of course! I won't be blending the pot pie again but have several recipes I can't wait to try. I even have lump crab meat waiting to be blended for a soup. That is a nice change. I think I have enough really delightful smoothie recipes to last the remaining 3 weeks of being wired! Now for Cammies thoughts on living it up while wired...I went out today and bought my skinny butt chocolate fudge caramel brownie mix to blend with vanilla ice cream and milk. MMMMmmmmm...Being wired never sounded so tastey! I went by work today and everyone was very sympathetic. The look on their faces showed they were heart broken for me for not being able to talk (what all we lady teachers loooove to do ) and eat. They gave me a gift certificate of 25 dollars to smoothie king and 35 dollars to the marble cream slabbery! Leave it to a bunch of ladies to know what a starving woman needs most! Homemade ice cream with fresh chocolate mixed in right before your eyes. Well, going back to work feels good. I'm lucky to work with all ladies because it feels a little like a slumber party every day. I just dread deciding what to do at lunch...Do I slurp it down with my zippie with my buddies in the lounge, or hide in my room slurping in the closet?? I'll figure it all out by Monday I suppose. Guest guest
What thoughtful colleagues you have, Jane! That's one of the nicest things I've heard of. Awww, take your zippies with you to the lounge and put on a show for them! That's part of what we get to go through in all this! And some folks have made up wonderful responses to inquiring looks and questions. Two of my favorites (not original with me) are: " I had an encounter with a rabid moose. " and: " Don't ask -- we had a REALLY bizarre sexual encounter. " Maybe if you put a little cranberry jelly in with the pot pie it would tempt you again... C. > > Well the book has really helped me.
