Wow, after 17 cast changes will be having surgery tomorrow

in the early a.m. They will be doing a tendon transfer on both feet

as well as a tenotomy and on one foot possibly a tendon

lengthening. Both feet will probably have a plantar faschia release

done as well. I have to say although I'm happy to be at this point,

it's hard to say good-bye to her medical team, especially Dr.

Ponsetti and Nurse , and the RMH friends we've gotten to know.

My husband and son are stuck in Chicago right now and they've

rebooked them on another flight in the morning however they are

going to try stand-by into Milone, Illinois later tonight. We

thought about renting a car for them to drive up but United won't do

that for us and we certainly can't do it either. If they don't make

it in till tomorrow we'll be o.k. as I was the one that was going to

take her in anyways. and I have been doing a lot of pretend

with masks like we're astronouts because she likes to pretend going

to the moon. Plus we've played hospital where we've put a play i.d.

bracelet on one wrist and wrapped her other arm in that stretchy

bandage stuff that doesn't stick when you take it off (this is what

we used to play casting with her dolls and animals) so she knows

she'll wake up with her forearm wrapped with an i.v. She has a

great little hospital book we found by Mister that shows all

of this. Plus she thinks it's pretty cool that she gets a brand new

outfit to wear when we get there. So far she seems o.k. with it

all. Hopefully all of this play will make things go smooth in the

morning and she'll just fall asleep in my arms and not be scared

about the i.v. when she wakes up. Thanks to all of you for your
