Question for those with regain after several years

Being a relative newbie (only 13 months out) I have heard a lot from those

further out about regain - so many people seem to experience it that it had

me curious about what's going on (and more than a little scared of it

happening to me). For those of you who had regain - how much did you

regain and what do you think was the reason (mechanical failure, not

following the pouch rules, quitting exercise, something else?).

My plan, as I'm sure is the plan of anyone undertaking this procedure, is

to get to my goal weight and stay as close to that as possible for the rest

of my life. However, there is a " rebound " effect of 5-15 lbs that my

literature from the surgeon talks about after 2-3 years, and I know many

people who have experienced this (or more). I know one few others who keep

their weight at goal after several years. I guess what I'm looking for is

some insight into the regain aspect - is it avoidable? Inevitable? Your

thoughts are greatly appreciated!
