Guest guest
sounds tasty! I really felt like eating bread one day, so I blended it with milk. Guest guest
I haven't even had my surgery yet, and I'm thinking about blending some cookies and milk! Good idea Jane!
Guest guest
That is funny because while I was drinking my cookies I kept thinking that and then I said but I'm starving!!! My mother in law pushed me over the edge! I did try to suck up some tomato soup first (first time to ever try it!) I didn't likeit. It tasted like spagettio juice! That's when the cookies came! It's like I said I can only be positive for about an hour at a time, then comr the frenzies. I AM SO HUNGRY! Guest guest
I toltally get it. If I had to deal with my stepmom on a regular basis, I'd have ripped my hair out long ago. while I was in the lowest low of frustration and hunger, she and my dad came to NY for the weekend. They asked me to join them at my grandmothers house for the weekend and I said I really could not handle being out of my comfort zone for that long. (friday afternoon thru saturday night) they said " Ok " and then when I saw my stepmom on sunday I could tell she was annoyed at somthing so I asked what... she said she decided she was really upset that I had not made the effort to come for the weekend. I looked at her and said " It's Sunday. If you are going to waste your energy being upset about yesterday, I really can't help you. " that was about 3 sentances before my boyfriends make-up comment. I guess you can't avoid you mother in law like I can my step-mom... i pretty much just didn't take her calls, claiming it hurt to talk. Now I just don't take her calls without any excuse. Guest guest
Well i've been reveling in not having to talk to her (she usually calls fequently) so when he gave me the phone and I had to listen without responding its like aaaaaahhhh that claustrophobic feeling the wired mouth gives. But I am lucky my husband has kept her away for two weeks. Against her wishes. Tomorrow makes exactly 2 weeks yeah 3 more to go. Guest guest
Hmmm. Spongebob (whom I have mercifully missed on the teevee, having no small children -- or large children addicted to such) doesn't sound delicious to me. And that judgment comes from a time before the latest homophobic lunacy about a cartoon character. Now Oreos, I can identify with. Or shortcakes -- even prefab Lorna Doones... But how about some brownies and cream? You're skinny and don't care about the pounds, and probably very heart-healthy, too! Go for the prize!!! Guest guest
Ok, Miz Sophisticated lady -- how bout some soft brie, or camembert? Slathered over rice, noodles, soft and cream-soaked bread??? Ummm. Blended olives in the mix, maybe? Just a few notions. Even shirred eggs (eggs, baked in buttery cream with brie or camembert, on some spinach, blended if the need is)... OK.. HUbby will tell you not heart healthy. Heart healthy isn't the biggest deal just now for a skinny minnie. We won't talk about big ol' vascularly challenged folks like moi. C. Guest guest
Oh, owww! I was (and I rekon I still am) a stepmom. But probably not a good one. It's a hard thing to try to figure out how to do, and my stepdaughter developed difficult problems of cultural and religious understandings from those of her papa. To the point that they were estranged almost totally when he died. I tried to apologize to her for any part of that I might have caused. I honestly never meant to create any friction. But it was just a tough situation. On both sides, I am sure. She resented the heck out of me, I was told. And as the older, and more responsible adult, I wish still that I had been able to do things better. I never, far as I know, acted the way you describe your stepmom as being, though, Tova. I also think it's wise to decline calls without offering an excuse. No reason you should have to beg off from a bazooka attack. No reason anybody should do a bazooka attack... C. > I toltally get it. Guest guest
You design purses for heaven's sake! That's girly. No teenager wants frilly. We all went through some sort of combat boot stage. She just got in too late in the game for knee socks and frills. When I was in surgery my sister was keeping my daughter on her own for the first time (she is qualified she has her own child age 9) and my in laws showed up and pestered her the whole time, all the while my mother in law went through every drawer in my house! My sister was furious. Even my underwear drawer was reorganized! Oh well... Jane > > > I toltally get it. Guest guest
You say: " About three years ago I finally conceded when " frilly bobby socks and pink dresses " morphed into " designer business suits with matching shoes " So, Tova, does that mean she's buying you Armani and Manolos now? (One of the little stores I plan to suggest to you sells Manolos in our tiny town. I bumbled in there one day and was gawking around, and one of the saleswomen came up and asked brightly: " Have you ever had Manolos? I loooove mine. " Me: (looking at my e's) Um, no -- but they're handsome shoes. (so, of course, is the price -- they're very, very proud of 'em.) Guest guest
I wish Armani and Manolos... though I'm gonna wait till I can afford those on my own before officially declaring them too expensive to buy. More of the Tahari and BCBG variety... available at a store near you! My bags, on the other hand, mingle comfortably among anything from manolo's to reeboks! Thanks for the connections!
