Guest guest
I can completely relate to the overly sweet. I was unable to eat jello or drink juice or anything for about 3 months. I still do not really care for things like cake and ice cream or candy which I loved before. This is a good thing since we do absorb all our sugar. Hi Becki, I can't speak for all of the educated post ops out there, but at 11 days out, here's my list. My comparison seems to say you're doing good, but you be the judge. From 5 am today, 3/4 of a 6 oz yoplait fat free yogurt with a scoop of no taste protein powder, 1/2 scrambled egg w/a tsp of shredded cheese, 3 saltines smeared w/peanut butter and a little dab of jam, most of 2 slices of ham with non fat cream cheese, three teaspoons of rice with bits of chicken and cream of chicken soup added (also with the protein powder). It's now 5:30 pm. I am not sure of my liquid intake, but feel it's pretty good. I sip on whatever water bottle is in the room I'm in, plus get some watered down crystal light in between. The water needs to be cool but not refrigerator cold (definite chg from pre-op, when I only liked icy) This is my best eating day by far. I have vomited at least once a day for the last 5 days. Sometimes it's because of something I " tried " to eat, and sometimes it's for no known reason. That part is frustrating, because with the tender tummy it's pretty sore, plus then you have to go about the business of eating again! I'd lost 19 lbs at 1 week out, and Dr K said that's too fast, and I need to work on getting protein in. In the last 5 days, I've lost another 5 lbs, but that's in the more realistic range. I haven't felt too good, but do notice when I eat every two hours or so, I feel better, especially if it's protein strong. I'm hoping I'm turning the corner for this part, and can start to get euphoric about my life stretched out in front of me! Good luck to you. You'll be in my thoughts.
