Guest guest
Low fat ricotta is fine. Cottage cheese with sugar free jello is fine. Mac & cheese/pasta is definitely NOT fine. Way too many carbs. Popsicles-get the sugar free-no sugar added has too much sugar. Broth-low sodium is always a healthier choice. Sugar free pudding-try soy milk-you may be lactose intolerant. Refried beans-go easy with this gassy food at first. Potted meats-I wouldn't try it too soon-some people never tolerate red meat again. Guest guest
Thank you Colleen, I appreciate the information and the description on the consistency of the soft foods. I really like getting all this information ahead of time... at least I will be more prepared than I was when I first started considering this operation. I love being informed and prepared = ) You are all a great help to me. ICE -- Re: cottage cheese question ok, and others as well... = ) Ice, I needed alittle something more than broth, strained cream soups did it for me. Watery mashed potatoes also passed my lips. Many will say they are too fattening but I was eating hardly anything and I needed something with substance to stick with me. So I made the choice...1/4 cup of potatoes wasn't going to make that much of a difference at this stage of the game. Also soft food is anything you could suck thru a straw. Not that you have to eat it that way but that's the consistancy you need. It's amazing what you and a blender can do.
