Hi , how's life?

I can't figure out a connection, but I'm wondering about gut disorders and

teeth. Though, as I said, the two with the bad teeth are NT (or apparently

so). But perhaps they could still have gut issues? Wonder if an entire

family could have gut problems?

One of the main reasons celiacs have dental problems is that the damaged

gut does not absorb vitamins and minerals properly. Of course calcium is a

mineral and a lack of it can cause teeth not to form properly or to

actually lose strength, as in osteoporosis, which is also very common in

celiacs.

Although it's a genetic and inheritable condition, it would be unlikely

that everyone in the family has celiac. The odds are about one in 10 for

first degree relatives. However, it's possible that a predisposition to

poor teeth formation is a dominant gene and could show up in most, if not

all of the family.

It's all in the genes....
