Guest guest
got a pressure sore on her big toe after her first day in the Markells but it doesn't sound like that is what your son has. The pressure sore was ugly looking...black/purple with a red ring around it but no swelling like you describe. I'm sorry I can't help more but it doesn't sound like a pressure sore anyway. I know someone else will have some good feedback for you. Carol and , bcf, 10-27-05 Help! - blisters on big toes (I think?) When we took Rory's Markell shoes off tonight we saw he has swelling/lumps on the pads of each big toe. Are these blisters? They look like his toes have a lump on them, they are not like a normal blister (it doesn't look like the blister is on the surface such that we could pop it...does that make sense?). The lumps are nearly 1/2 the size of his big toe and are on the bottom and close to his #2 toes. What do we do? I'll call the doctor in the morning, but I recently read someone else had problems with toe blisters in Markell's. Can anyone tell me if these are blisters? If so, what should I do...soak his piggies in epson salts??!!!? & Rory rcf 11-2-
Guest guest
My daughter has a blister right now from growing out of the s width wise. Waiting for a new pair. But at first it was red and raiser and swollen. Then about a week later it turned to a blister. So if you have the redness, start padding it now before it turns to a blister! Guest guest
How exactly do I pad it? Should I put cotton balls under his toes? Can you explain what you mean by padding it? Thank you! & Rory rcf 11-2-05 > > My daughter has a blister right now from growing out of the s width wise. Waiting for a new pair. But at first it was red and raiser and swollen. Guest guest
This great! I'm printing your e-mail and using it as a shopping list at the pharmacy tomorrow. His toes are so tiny...it will be a teeny tiny blister bandaid. If I get confused I will give you a call. Thank you! > > Ok, heres what you will need. Atleast this is what I do, and it works great, and her blister has never broke. ... > > You will need... > Kling Gauze > Nexcare Medical Tape (my daughters got a latex sensitivity) > Mole FOAM > 2nd Skin Burn pads (these are made out of sterile water, and gelitin) > Neosporin > > *Put a little Neosporin on the blister. Just a little though. > *Cut a piece of the 2nd Skin pad to fit a little bigger than the blister, and put it over the blister, and tape down. > *Cut a piece of Mole FOAM (not mole skin!) into an oval shape 2- 3X the size of the blister. Cut a hole inside of that oval. Put the blister in the middle of that hole so no edges are touching it. > *Take and cut a piece of the Kling Gauze, fold in 1/2. I buy this gauze because it is 100% softer than regular gauze, and still good priced! Put the gauze, folded in 1/2 over the Mole Foam and tape down > *Put the shoes back on. > > If you have any questions, please feel free to call me! > > > > Christee > Mother of Josh, Aspen, Dylan & > *Lilee ~ Unilateral A-Typical (complex) Club Foot w/Cavus/Plantaris (R foot) > & Metatarsus Adductus (L foot). > *Fully corrected after a long haul w/another Dr. by DR.
