Guest guest
How did you find out Welch's Grape Juice was taken off the list? My son has been on the diet for two years and he has a huge glass, diluted with water, every day after school. I hate to take that away from him too! Is there something else instead? Thanks! Guest guest
As I recall, people were worried it was no longer legal for some technical reason about the label or something, butit was never determined one way or another for sure andpeople are still using it as far as I know.MaraI found this statement (about it being illegal) on this forum but I am unable to look for it right now. I did continue searching for an answer and found where someone else was talking about it and they said that it was not true that it is "legal" and that incorrect info was "out there".To: BTVC-SCD Sent: Tue, March 23, 2010 8:23:19 AMSubject: Re: Is there a new list?Willow,Where did you hear it was off the list? Guest guest
It's on pecanbread.com and the official BTVC site as legal. It can't have calcium or anything added. I do seem to recall something being said about it but I didn't save the message. I found this statement (about it being illegal) on this forum but I am unable to look for it right now. Guest guest
I believe some people are finding that the bottles of Welch’s Grape Juice are saying ‘from concentrate’. If that is the case then it would be illegal. Check the label carefully as manufacturers often change their formulas. Guest guest
Does anyone know about the Just Juices? They were on the legal list at Pecan Bread I think, I remember finding that they were legal somewhere. I have been drinking Just Blueberry since it is so much easier than boiling mine for an hour and then mushing them through a strainer. They are also from concentrate but have nothing added. Just the blueberries. Guest guest
Kedem grape is also legal. You have to double check the label. For some reason, I think it's only the white but maybe the purple, not the mixes. Just juice is the only line legal for Knudsen's. Does anyone know about the Just Juices? Guest guest
Welches grape juice is legal. It is from concentrate but when Elaine checked it out she felt it was okay. I have no idea if anything in the formula has been changed but it remains legal. Katy ____________________________________________________________ Small Business ToolsCompete with the big boys. Guest guest
This is from the Legal/Illegal List: Juice from concentrate Illegal Juice from concentrate is normally illegal because when it is reconstituted they often add other things (like sugar). Because unless the concentrates are checked out carefully, they may have extra sugars added. Companies typically do not make their own concentrates. They buy them from other companies. THey are not, therefore, required to list those extra sugars on the label because THEY didn't add them. — Marilyn New Orleans, Louisiana, USA Undiagnosed IBS since 1976, SCD since 2001 Darn Good SCD Cook No Human Children Shadow & Sunny Longhair Dachshund Babette the Foundling Beagle

I am assuming it was checked out and is legal? Is that a safe assumption? I would hate to think I am unknowingly giving him something illegal. Considering how hard we all work to make sure our food doesn't have illegals in it, that's entirely reasonable! The named juices are OK, but keep an eye out for the packaging, because you do not want the juices with added calcium. THose were checked out, and the calcium they use in the juice has a starch in it, I believe. — Marilyn New Orleans, Louisiana, USA Undiagnosed IBS since 1976, SCD since 2001 Darn Good SCD Cook No Human Children Shadow & Sunny Longhair Dachshund Babette the Foundling Beagle
