Guest guest
I saw mine 2 weeks post-op (upper/lower/genio) for x-rays and a look, which led him to snip one of the wires poking my cheek. My next OD appointment is set short of 5 weeks post-op, 1 hour after my splint removal appointment so that he can immediately install the new wire. I'm not looking forward to the OD's assistant tying those little bands around each brace... it's sore enough when they do that WITHOUT surgery done! Guest guest
Hi, For what it's worth.... I will be seeing my ortho for my first official post-op appt at almost 7 weeks post-op per my surgeon's approval. I have no idea why you would have to wait so long. My bite isn't quite there yet either, so I completely understand why you're anxious to get in there and get things going. I guess your OS knows your specific case and his work best. How far along post-op are you at this point? At least you have that bit of time over with so far!! Hang in there, Katja > > Hey all, > > General question - How long after surgery were you instructed to wait > before returning to see your OD for a " tune-up " . Guest guest
I was supposed to see my ortho today but I kind of slept through the alarm so I will be going to see him tomorrow and that will make me one day short of 5 weeks. I just had a lower advancement though. If they try to do molds I'll scream and run out though. But hopefully theyll just take out the surgical hooks/wire and put a new wire in and maybe do a little detailling. katja750 <no_reply > wrote: Hi, For what it's worth.... Guest guest
I went exactly two weeks after being unwired and the day I got my splint off it wasn't nearly as bad as I imagined. Guest guest
I had lower only as well. No complications, and every time I'm in there they comment about how fast I'm healing. That's why I'm so confused. I see the resident docs this Thursday. I will wait to mention it until I can see my main doctor. I've been able to negotiate less time banded, and noodles, so I think *crosses fingers* I should be able to negotiate this....and not risk any permanent problems. Unless they give me a very compelling reason, and then, doctor's orders. > > > > Hey all, > > > > General question - How long after surgery were you instructed to > wait > > before returning to see your OD for a " tune-up " .
