Guest guest
Sounds to me like your weight isn't moving on the scale right now because of your increase in muscle mass.....which is an excellent thing! Muscle weighs more than soft tissue and it also makes you a more efficient fat-burning machine. Just keep up the good work and your weight WILL start to fall again. If you cut back and decrease your food too much you'll begin to lose some of that nice muscle you worked so hard to build!
Guest guest
Consider yourself lucky that this is your first plateau! If you are losing inches still I am not sure why you are freakin' out girl. Your weight loss may begin to slow a little now that you are 6 months post op. It was bound to happen. Your body needs to adjust itself every once in awhile and if you start to starve it it may just hold onto the weight even longer because that is what sometimes happens when your body feels it is in starvation mode. Just wait it out and keep doing what you are doing...eating right and exercising. You may want to try upping your protein even by drinking more protein drinks. It will jumpstart itself again soon. I started out by losing steadily my first 6 months and having one plateau just at the beginning (at 5 weeks) like many people do. Now that I am 8 months post op I find that my body constantly stalls out then starts up again. It is just the way it works for me now I guess. I would also like to suggest that you put the scale away for a week or two and concentrate on doing healthy things for yourself and then when you take the scale back out you will probably be pleasantly surprised. Guest guest
Gotta second what Colleen said (and congrats Colleen on the shopping experience ). You're doing great Tre, just give your body time to catch up and keep doing what you're doing! Lap RNY April 9, 2004 348/286/140 (begin/current/goal) www.carrieburns.net > It does Tre.
