Guest guest
Hi, If it is a matter of lack of appetite, try supplementing with zinc. My son lost his appetite after an illness, and it never returned. He was getting so skinny! We started supplementing with zinc because it is supposes to help regulate appetite, and it worked. As an added bonus, he sleeps better with it too. in FL > We have been doing the GFCF diet for 7 months now and I'm > FRUSTRATED. My son still doesn't eat a wider variety of foods than > he did when he started.
Guest guest
> Morning everyone!....> He never has craved gluten or milk after starting diet but does have > an allergy to yeast that sends him to the moon and will only eat bread with yeast (which of course is a no no for him) So pizza and bread stick are gone. He does not like cakey textures,(just eats the frosting) cookies, muffins, you name it.... A popular no-yeast bread is called Noah's Bread and can be made into breadsticks, rolls, big pretzels, etc. Search the archives here or with the gfcfrecipes e-group. Sparkling water is used instead of yeast to make the bread rise.
Guest guest
> Would some of you please post you doctor's Flagyl regimine? My > doctor relies a lot on the information I give her. Congrats on breaking your plateau.. sowwy about your troubles! I got flagyl 500 mg every 8 hours for 7 days, then I took 1 a day for another 7 days.. I also took lots of acidophilus and bulgaricus so that the good stuff could repopulate before the bad stuff.. and my only gas is usually with/just prior to a BM. Good luck on fixing things quickly!! Guest guest
> you only need to " white knuckle " it for > one day at a time. Do like others have done. Go back to all protein for one > day. I can second that -- I'm a carb addict, and I'm on the beginning of Day 3 of a 3-day protein-mostly fast. I'm doing shakes only all day, and in the evening I have a large green salad with a little lo-carb dressing. That's it. If I get hungry I have another shake, but since the first day, I haven't had the carb cravings, and I haven't needed the extra shake. The essential thing is to get rid of the white foods -- bread is my downfall, but so is sugar in any form, so it's out. No rice, no potatoes, no pasta. No starchy veggies. Once I've gotten the worst carbs out, I will add in a few complex carbs carefully -- legumes, grains, nuts, and so on. But nothing white. ~~ Lyn
Guest guest
Pennie, You really need to call your doctor. It might be nothing but healing yet it might be a hernia that you don't want to let go. Please don't be afraid to call your doctor. Will keep you in my thoughts and prayers. Laurette 4/23/04 open RNY 309/290/258/
