Hi Sherri,

I had BSSO a couple years ago and have had a numb tongue ever since. I

didn't have any feeling at all until about 6 months post-op. It's

improved veeerrry slowly since then, but it's steadily getting better.

I don't expect it'll ever get back to normal, but all we can do is

wait and hope for the best.

Oh, it's pretty unlikely that the nerve was cut during surgery. More

likely it just got stretched.

Thanks for the reply, Neil

I just saw the surgeon today and he said the same thing, it probably

got stretched and should take six months. Thanks for sharing your

experience. Hopefully yours will heal in time.
