Guest guest
Well, yeah, there seems to be gritty stuff in the bottom of the stockpot when I make chicken or beef bone broth. I recently started using Redmond salt (which I love!), but I have had “grit” in the soup even before I started using the Redmond brand. I thought it was stuff from the bones. Maybe it is the salt, I don’t know. Whatever it is, I do not eat the last spoonful of soup! What sorts of meals are you finding this grit in? Interesting. I hope other Redmond salt users chime in. Is this something I should eat or discard? I mean, if flax seeds are abrasive to the gut, what about this grit? Wouldn't it be worse, or is there an explanation that I'm not thinking of? Perhaps it's analogous to meat bones where it's still good to have it in food but not good to eat? I love the taste of foods with it, but I'm a little reluctant about it right now. _,_._,___
Guest guest
I'm finding it in broths, stews, roasts where I've added Redmond, so I guess it is possible that it's something other than the salt like you wrote below. I'll have to pay attention when I put it in non-broth foods to see what happens. However, I have found three other comments on the internet about people's dissatisfaction with this product because of the said-like grit in it. I'll let you know what happens when I fix it with other recipes. Thanks for your reply. I await other replies, too. Guest guest
Has anyone else noticed this grit at the bottom of the meals they fix that contain Redmond real salt? It's probably all the trace minerals they talk about having in there. Guest guest
Laurie, Yeah, I've noticed. Considering that the actual salt is white with flecks of brown, I've wondered if it isn't just dirt.
