Guest guest
I dont claim to offer any medical advice but what this could be is the wires (if you had upper surgery). I know with my upper/lower they used plates on the bottom and on the top they used thin wire. It looked so haphazard int he xray - all I could see on top (they didnt explain the post op xray to me, just showed me once it came out of the machine) was what looked like a little bundle of wire right below my nose, and i noticed post op that this was very tender for the first couple days (im not adventurous enough yet to poke and prod.. I figure I should wait until atleast 2 or 3 weeks before that - only 8 days out now and doing awsome). I hope this is all you felt bc if it is just the wireing you felt below your nose than its probabally nomal to feel bumpy. kev janepapillion wrote: Like a finger space from the right of my nose I feel like a hard bone like bump. On the other side I feel just smooth texture like normal. They way I noticed was I felt a litle pain in the spot today so I rubbed it. Now I am really worrying because I just don't fully understand what they did to my upper jaw and why it wouldn't be the same on both sides. Is it possible...that something is coming loose??? I know that many have had screws come out and had to go through surgery again but my lower jaw healed naturally no screws...I don't know I am scared and once again am so appalled at my lack of knowledge of what they did to me, totally my fault I know.. Guest guest
Have you called your surgeon? Often you can call and speak to one of the nurses and they can help you determine if its something you need to make an appt about with the surgeon. For my surgery (upper and lower), my right side of my face had more swelling and now, 4 mths after, I still have a bit of a small lump on my right side where you describe. My surgeon said its not unusual for one side of the face to swell more then the other, and that also its rare for our faces to be perfectly symmetrical, so its common for this to occur. He also told me the swelling will subside over time and that it can take a long time for all of the swelling to go down, like 6-12 mths. Right now, I can see the last of the swelling is going down, but its kinda slow at this point. And the one side is still more swollen then the other, but I think I'm the only one that can really notice it unless I point it out. Anyway, I recommend giving your surgeon's office a call (if you haven't done so already) and seeing what they say. Good luck. -Ed > Like a finger space from the right of my nose I feel like a hard bone > like bump. Guest guest
I'm thinking you said you plan to see the surgeon before your move -- or maybe that was the ortho. I believe I'd call the surgeon, today, and tell whoever you talk with what you've found, about the pain, and that you're moving soon and want to get it seen to before you go. Sorry for the trouble. And I hope it's nothing related to the surgery. Best, Cammie > Like a finger space from the right of my nose I feel like a hard bone > like bump. Guest guest
That sounds like it could be it. Jne > Like a finger space from the right of my nose I feel like a hard bone > like bump.
