Guest guest
I could never tolerate the lara bars, but hopefully after a few months of LDN which i'll be starting in about a month and a half after this round of pred. , We always have to be very, very careful about any processed food, even when minimally processed. It's why, for instance, even though the " 2% rule " technically doesn't exist any more, I still don't trust an awful lot of stuff. So I act as if it does still exist. It's stuff like " Oh, no, there's no starch in our sliced meat... " but when you dig deeper, you find out they use corn starch on every slice. " But that's not an ingredient! It's a processing aid! " Yeah, right. Whatever they call it, it makes me sick. It took me years to tolerate Lara bars. — Marilyn New Orleans, Louisiana, USA Undiagnosed IBS since 1976, SCD since 2001 Darn Good SCD Cook No Human Children Shadow & Sunny Longhair Dachshund
Guest guest
I agree. I'm totally paranoid about anything I don't make myself. That is why I reserve them (Lara Bar) for " emergency only " situations.I keep one in my purse. I usually travel with a cooler full of food. However, there have been a few times where I have found myself totally stuck- in traffic, or at a school event where I can't get to my food, and I have used one to tide me over until I get home. I figured it is better to do that than risk anything cooked in a school cafeteria with who knows what in it. I'm grateful that I have tolerated them in this context, but I have not eaten them frequently or regularly. Everything else I eat is " home made " . I have not eaten any sliced meat or anything like that.
