Guest guest
Marcia, I do not think that 's shoes have ever officially been mounted on the Dobbs' bar. There was talk about them working toward that, but I think the shoes will only mount on the bar at this time. So you have to get one or the other, there's no " mix and match " right now. > > Well, saw the ortho again yesterday. Was actually regarding her hip spica cast, but talked to him about her foot anyway. We were discussing the challenges we've had with bracing while in the spica (we actually saw Dr. Price, who is on Dr. Ponsetti's list, as our regular ortho was out of town) so, after chatting he wrote us a prescription for the PM's and we went over to our local orthotic place to have her impressions made, they will order the shoes for us - how cool is that? Then they get to deal with insurance, not us. Also, one of the ortho's in the office, the other Ponseti trained dr., met us over at the orthotic place. They are going to look into getting us a Dobb's brace. Do you all know if you can order one or does Dr. Dobbs only use them for his own patients? Are there any concerns he's observed with the bar that we should be aware of and will it work with the PM's? Thanks for any info you may have! > > Marcia > > >
Guest guest
Marcia, Unfortunately you wouldn't be able to use Dr. Dobbs' articulating bar with the shoes, although the two of them have talked, I don't think they have come up with a way to do this yet. I know has been toying with articulating bars, but hasn't put anything into place yet. People other than Dr. Dobbs patients can get the articulating bar through the Orthotics company that works with him, O & P labs, Dave Osterman Jr. . This bar can be used with either the Markell shoes or the molded AFO style shoes (these have to be custom made with a plaster mold). > > Well, saw the ortho again yesterday.
