Guest guest
Dan, I understand your frustration completely. I can see a change in your after photos, but I'm sure you were expecting more change in your profile and you had every right to expect that. Nonetheless, you look pretty good, but I understand what you probably wanted to see for results. What procedures did you have? I had lower advancement/genioplasty ten years ago and was very discouraged with the lackluster improvement. I recently had another large genioplasty and now have a strong profile. You can see my photos in the " bad post " folder. The first photos represent what I had " after " the jaw advance/genioplasty. I need to find and scan in a photo from before the first surgery. I'll admit though, my profile was ridiculously recessive prior to the first surgery, I looked " stupid " from the side profile. My second genioplasty was roughly a 15mm advancement. > > Hello, I was just noticing today how disappointed I am with the > results of my surgery. Guest guest
I see what you're talking about in your " bad post " pictures and the final results are a lot different than the beginning or midway through and the end looks natural. Obviously I'm no authority and looking at a few pics is not a real test, but from Dans photos, it looks to me that his jaw looks really strong now... I also have a square, strong shaped jaw like Dan and was sooo worried that I would have " angry jaw " after it was pulled forward... His looks- to me- like it is in the " right place " now and if it was further forward, it might look angry... again, just me offering my superficial, aesthetic opinion... :-) Tova > > Dan, > > I understand your frustration completely. Guest guest
We are our own worst critics. I think you look much better, personally. You have a much stronger lower jaw to me, quite the improvement. I've had some surgeries in the past where I didn't think it looked much better, but everyone else did. But, really, I think it is a marked improvement! Cassie > > Hello, I was just noticing today how disappointed I am with the > results of my surgery. Guest guest
I had lower advancement only. Sometimes I even wonder if they really did anything?? rakushka wrote: Dan, what were you trying to fix with the surgery, and what did you have done? > > Hello, I was just noticing today how disappointed I am with the > results of my surgery. Guest guest
Not too soon to ask your surgeon about it, Dan, but really too soon to see what your results are going to wind up being. Guest guest
Dan, " I can tell by looking at before and after pics > that I have some asymmetry and not much improvement in my profile. " I think you have great improvement in your profile. Let me ask you about the asymmetry. I am just guessing here, when looking at pix, are you thinking that your jaw shifts off a bit to the right (your left?). I want you to look at my pix please, look under photos, " " , you will see really drastic bad asymmetry. I am dealing with second opinions now and possibly a chin implant to one side. Currently they are shifting all of my teeth to the left to match lip midline. IT's really off. Let me know what you see when you look at yourself and what you are hearing from your surgeon. I agree with Tova, what would the smile look like? > > Hello, I was just noticing today how disappointed I am with the > results of my surgery. Guest guest
Dan, you look better than your pre-op pictures... your profile looks a LOT better! your side profile looks a lot more masculine than before... however, i do see that your chin is a bit tilted - same thing happened to me! even with the asymetry, you look better than before.... stay positive dude...
