Guest guest
Hey , We went through this too, honestly, dh ended up sleping in the spare room for a couple of months until I put her in her crib. For the first few weeks, we started out all in bed together but actually getting some sleep soon made that spare bed look very appealing to him lol. I probably could have moved her into her crib sooner as she really did end up sleeping just fine there, think it was more my thing to want to have her close, she was just a couple months old then. If I come up with any ideas of how you might pad the bottom of the bar with somethin, I'll share. I was thinking a bigger blankie wraped around the shoes maybe and you could tie it on around the metal part of the bar with an old Tshirt or something, sorry couldn't be more helpful. & Grace > > Many restless nights and bruised legs later, Hayden is STILL in our > bed (not for a lack of trying on MY part to get him OUT!) Guest guest
, Forgive my asking, but how old is Hayden again? I know what I did with Jakob as he got a little bigger (and am doing currently with our younger son ) was to put his crib in our room against my side of the bed with one side removed. This way, Jakob had room to move, but I could still just roll over to nurse him as needed in the night. It made things easier all the way around for us Jakob - 2/9/98 bcf done with FAB 9/2001 - 8/11/04 > > Many restless nights and bruised legs later, Hayden is STILL in our > bed (not for a lack of trying on MY part to get him OUT!) Guest guest
That was one of the reasons I left Children's Hospital (besides the obvious modified Ponseti treatment) The ortho criticized me for co-sleeping. I've co-slept with all of my kids until I weaned them and the only reason I want Hayen out now is because I just am not getting quality sleep anymore with him there. That's why I am majorly grooving on 's suggestion of the sideless crib next to my side of the bed - he'd be there but separate. number23 wrote: There's as much vaild argument for co-sleeping as there is against it... s. ----- Despite the flack I get at work (I'm a child protective service worker), Logan is still in our bed most nights. Guest guest
my kids are all co-sleepers too. The older two now sleep together in their full size bed and have since I moved them out to make room for their sister when the younger was 3yo. He still comes to us many nights though, last night it was really windy and he came... left the light on and his sister upstairs crying though he was so scared lol. The past week or so all three have been in this bed together. One with brace lol! She's been in her own bed since a bit over 2yo but I still have to get her and bring her to me many nights. She is the youngest to leave and the longest night nurser so I still don't get full sleep every night (night nursing off now, phew! she's nearly 3 though so it WAS time lol). She still wakes up, I traded nursing for getting up and going upstairs and bringing her back to me for snuggles. It's all good. Some kids are all over the bed though. my middle child was like that, if he was in the brace it would have been much different than with his sister, who hasn't really hurt me too many times with her shoes. They're all going to be different these kids and with brace, I can totally see how it'd come time to end for safety reasons! Guest guest
As others have said, the sleep sacks have worked well for us. I have found that I don't get banged up with them on, not yet anyway, since we are new to this FAB thing. We will graduate to a Halo sack this week since the sleepsacks are becoming tight at the bottom. is three months old, BTW. Carol Anyone Co-Sleeping with a FAB'er? Many restless nights and bruised legs later, Hayden is STILL in our bed (not for a lack of trying on MY part to get him OUT!) It wasn't so bad when he had casts on, although I had some pretty bruises then, but it is even scarier with the FAB on - he swings his legs up over his head and I find myself doing the " duck and cover " most of the night so he doesn't bring the bar back down on my face! I've woken up in the night with something digging in my back (the bar again) and he likes to sleep with one leg up on me. I've thought about using a sleepsack, but he is such a warm kid I think he'd roast all night in it. I've been using receiving blankets to wrap around the bar and various small pillows to pad my body, but they don't stay in okace for long because he moves constantly. Of course, I could always kick my husband out of the bed - he snores anyway. Anyone else dealing with this issue? What have you tried? Thanks in advance!
